The nation's oldest city
St. Augustine Window Film for Historic Shops, Inns and Coastal Homes
St. Augustine has been continuously occupied since the Spanish founded it in 1565, and its old town is a mix of coquina, Spanish colonial revival, Victorian and Flagler-era buildings. Window film here has to be close to invisible and kind to old glass.
St. AugustineUV Window Film for St. George Street Shops and Galleries
The pedestrian blocks of St. George Street and the lanes around it are packed with gift shops, clothing boutiques, galleries, candy and food shops in small historic buildings. Display windows are often original or old replacement glass in wood frames, and they face narrow streets where sun angles shift through the day.
Merchandise in those windows fades: prints, textiles, leather, packaged goods. An invisible ultraviolet screen on the inside of the pane slows that bleaching and leaves the storefront exactly as tourists photograph it, which matters both to shoppers and to the city's review of historic buildings. Galleries on Aviles Street and near the bayfront use the same film to protect artwork hung near the glass. Shop owners often ask us to work in the hour before the street fills with visitors, and a typical storefront is done before ten.
Window Film and St. Augustine Historic Architectural Review
Much of downtown St. Augustine falls under the city's historic preservation districts, and exterior changes to buildings there go through architectural review. Visible changes to windows, including reflective or tinted glass, can require approval.
Clear and very low-reflectance interior films are the least likely to change a building's appearance and generally the easiest path. We recommend checking with the city's historic preservation staff before installing film on a building inside the districts, and we provide product data and samples for the review if needed.

Window Film for St. Augustine Inns and Bed-and-Breakfasts
Historic homes converted into inns line the streets around the old town and the bayfront. Guest rooms with tall single-pane windows get hot in summer, and sun fades antique furnishings and quilts. Bathrooms with street-facing windows need privacy.
Near-clear heat film and clear UV film on guest room windows improve comfort and protect furnishings without changing the historic look. Frosted or decorative film handles bathroom privacy. Work is scheduled room by room around bookings.
- Clear UV film for shop displays and galleries
- Near-clear heat film for inn guest rooms
- Decorative film for bathroom windows
- Low-reflectance film for historic facades
Coastal Home Window Film on Anastasia Island
Across the Bridge of Lions, Anastasia Island holds beach houses, condos and rentals facing the Atlantic and the Matanzas River. East-facing glass takes morning sun and ocean glare; west-facing glass looks across the river into the sunset.
Near-clear heat film and UV film keep living rooms comfortable and protect furniture in rentals. Interior installation keeps film away from salt and sand. Safety film keeps broken glass together but is not hurricane protection and does not replace shutters or impact windows.

Office and Retail Window Film Along St. Augustine's Main Roads
Outside the historic core, US 1, State Road 16 and State Road 207 carry shopping centers, medical offices, banks and service businesses. Storefronts face parking lots and the full sun. Here the buildings are modern and the rules are looser, so the work looks like any commercial job: a pale solar film on west-facing fronts, frost on clinic windows that face parking, and retention film on doors that have been forced before.

St. Augustine Window Film: Owner and Innkeeper Questions
Does the historic review process cover window film in old-town St. Augustine?
It can. Anything that alters how a window looks from the street may need sign-off, so a perfectly clear interior film is the safest choice. Ask the city's preservation office before booking, and we will send them product details if they want them.
Is century-old wavy glass in a St. Augustine building too fragile for film?
Most of the time. Before quoting, we look over each pane for hairline cracks and crumbling putty, and a few antique panes are simply too fragile to risk.
Will UV film change how my shop window looks?
Clear UV film is very hard to see. Displays look the same to shoppers, but the merchandise fades much more slowly.
Can you work around guests at an inn?
Yes. We schedule room by room around bookings so guests are not disturbed.
